Start-up Visa Program
Canada’s Start-up Visa Program targets immigrant entrepreneurs with the skills and potential to build businesses in Canada (outside Quebec) that are innovative, can create jobs for Canadians and can compete on a global scale. You must have a business idea and pitch your qualifying start-up to a designated organization and get their support. You must get a letter of support from a designated organization (venture capital fund, angel investor group, or business incubator). Then you can apply for permanent residence in Canada if you meet the language requirements and proof of settlement fund. You can also apply for a work permit while you wait for the permanent residence.
Eligibility for the Start-up Visa Program
1. Have a qualifying business
2. Get a letter of support from a designated organization
3. Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 5 in either English or French
4. Bring enough settlement fund
