Family Sponsorship
If you are 18 years of age or older and a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada, you can sponsor certain relatives to come to Canada to become permanent residents in order to live, study, and work in Canada. Family members you can sponsor include your spouse, partner or dependent children (under 22 years old)
Family Sponsorship Document Checklist
1. Passport photocopy: The passport must be valid for at least one year after leaving the country
2. Proof of financial resources: prove whether you have enough funds to cover tuition fees, return air tickets, and living expenses while living in Canada.
3. ID card
4. Birth certificate
5. Marriage certificate
6. Proof of marital status for children aged 16 and above
7. Two ID photos: passport size 45mm * 35mm
8. Physical examination certificate: If you intend to stay in Canada for more than six months, you need to attach a medical examination report. This is usually done after notification from the Canadian Immigration Bureau. If you are short on time, you can complete it in advance and submit it later.
9. Good Citizen Certificate
10. If you are getting divorced in the Hong Kong SAR, please provide a copy of the "Decree Absolutely Nice".
